Magdalene House Social Services: OPEN
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Clients may come once a week.  There is no zip code restriction for food.
Due to the delta and delta plus variants, clients are asked to mask up before entering Magdalene House.  If a client does not have a mask, one will be provided.   
**If a client is ill and in need of food, please contact (281) 540-1907 on the days/times listed above and ask to speak to a caseworker.  After a short intake interview, food will be available curbside.  

Eviction & Utility Pledge Assistance
(Important:  Requires access to a printer w/scanner in order to email documents)
Residents living in the following zip codes may call and schedule an appointment for assistance: 77044, 77338, 77346, 77347, and 77396.  
Procedure: 

1. Clients may call (281) 540-1907 to schedule an online ZOOM appointment.  The client must have access to a smartphone or computer with an installed camera and microphone.
2. The client will need to email [email protected] upon confirmation of assistance.
   • Eviction:  Magdalene House Application (on file), Eviction Notice (court order preferred), Valid ID, Pledge Commitments from another agency/church.
   • Utilities:  Magdalene House Application (on file), Disconnect Notice, Valid ID, Pledge Commitments from another agency/church.  
3. Once received, the Intake Coordinator will email the zoom access information to the client along with the date and time of the meeting.  It's very important that the client is on time for the meeting.  
4. The director of social services will review the request(s) and zoom call with the client.  

**Important - We understand that this is a very stressful time for many in our community.  Please keep accurate information and document any/all conversations that you've had with your landlord and utility providers.  Also, try to make partial payments, if possible, to stay in good faith with your provider(s).  

Hotel Vouchers, While Magdalene House Social Services does assist with Court Order Eviction Notices for individuals residing within our parish boundaries, we are unable to assist with Hotel Vouchers.  

Meals on Wheels, contact (713) 533-4971 to sign up.  Meals on Wheels is also offering COVID-19 Vaccines to its clients.  Be sure to inquire with your local clinician.
